The Hidden Leaf Village gave "Naruto" almost all of its main characters: from the orange-haired joker with the Nine-Tails inside to a whole corps of legendary shinobi. In this breakdown, we've gathered Konoha's characters in a way that's easy to read: by teams, generations, and clans, with ranks, role in the story, and links to cards. Without trying to retell the entire wiki, just the essence and connections.

Konoha: Hidden Leaf Village

Hidden Leaf Village (Konohagakure) was born as an alliance of two warring clans: Senju and Uchiha. Their leaders, Hashirama and Madara, agreed to end the endless war and build a village where shinobi children would no longer die first. Thus was born the first of the Five Great Hidden Villages.

Konoha is located in the Land of Fire and is considered the strongest of the Great Villages for almost all of history. Above it rises the cliff with the faces of the Hokage, and its symbol, a stylized leaf, is worn by every shinobi on their forehead protector.

Will of Fire. The Will of Fire is the ideology of Konoha, especially preached by the Third Hokage: every villager is family, and the older generation is ready to give their lives to protect the younger one. It is this very idea that turns its list of characters not into a mere roster, but into a story spanning several generations.

Team 7: the heart of the story

Almost the entire story rests on Team 7 under the leadership of Kakashi Hatake. Its three students go from failing the bell test to becoming the saviors of the shinobi world.

The dynamics of the trio set the tone for the entire anime: the rivalry between Naruto and Sasuke, Sakura's growth, Kakashi's hidden care. If you've always wanted to join such a genin team yourself, not just read about it, this is exactly where our role-playing world of Konoha begins.

Konoha 11 and Their Mentors

«Konoha 11» are eleven genin of the same graduation year, the future foundation of the village. They are conveniently remembered by three teams plus mentors.

Team 8 (mentor Yūhi Kurenai):

Team 10, Ino-Shika-Chō (mentor Sarutobi Asuma):

Team Guy (mentor Might Guy):

Why trios. A Leaf shinobi team is always three genin and one jōnin mentor. This structure supports both the plot and our roleplay: a newcomer enters the world precisely through their trio.

Hokage of the Leaf in order

The position of Hokage has been passed down seven times, and almost every holder is a key figure in the plot.

Legendary Sannin

Three students of the Third Hokage became the most famous shinobi of their generation, and went their separate ways.

  • Tsunade, Hashirama's granddaughter, the best medic and the Fifth Hokage.

  • Jiraiya, the Toad Sage, mentor of both Minato and Naruto.

  • Orochimaru, an immortality-obsessed scientist who left the village and founded the Hidden Sound.

One teacher, three paths. The Sannin show how from one team can grow a Hokage, a lone hero, and a main antagonist. This is the best illustration that the fate of a Leaf shinobi is not predetermined.

The Shadow of the Leaf: Root, ANBU, and Defectors

Konoha also has a dark side: secret operations, Root under Danzo Shimura's command, and tragedies the village preferred to remain silent about.

  • Shimura Danzo, leader of Root, ready to sacrifice anything for the "good of the village."

  • Uchiha Itachi, who slaughtered his own clan on orders to prevent a coup and war.

  • Uchiha Obito, who lost faith in the world after the death of his beloved and became the puppet master of war.

It is from these knots, loyalty versus conscience, orders versus family, that the true drama of the Leaf grows. In our role-playing world of Konoha, these same forks are offered to the player: to remain loyal to the village or to go their own way.
