The Yamanaka clan is the mind and voice of the Hidden Leaf Village. While others strike the body, the Yamanaka strike the consciousness: they read minds, inhabit other minds, and bind entire armies into a single telepathic network. And between missions they run a flower shop. Here are gathered all clan members from our catalog, an analysis of their mental techniques and role in the Ino-Shika-Cho trio. This is a spoke of the larger breakdown of Konoha characters.
Yamanaka Clan: masters of mind
The Yamanaka are known in Konoha for two things at once: the flower shop run by the family, and their service in intelligence. The peaceful craft of a florist and working with others' minds coexist in the clan surprisingly naturally.
The Yamanaka clan's hereditary gift is mind techniques. They allow not only to fight, but also to interrogate, search, and connect people at a distance, therefore the clan has served as the foundation of the village's reconnaissance squad for centuries.
Briefly about the clan. Florists and telepaths of the Hidden Leaf. Their weapon is the foreign mind: capture, mind reading and telepathic communication, which makes the Yamanaka indispensable in reconnaissance.

Mental techniques
The clan's art works not with the enemy's chakra, but with their consciousness.
Mind Transfer. Yamanaka leaves their body and enters another's, completely controlling it. During the technique, their own body is defenseless.
Mind Reading. Penetration into the target's memory and thoughts, indispensable during interrogation.
Telepathic Communication. Connecting many people into one mental network: this way one Yamanaka can maintain communication between thousands of shinobi at once.
Weak Point. Mind capture requires time and precise aim, so Yamanaka always work in tandem with cover.

Ino-Shika-Cho: the mind of the trio
Yamanaka never fights alone. The clan forms the legendary Ino-Shika-Cho trio together with Nara and Akimichi, and in it Yamanaka is responsible for the mind.
Nara immobilizes the enemy with shadow.
Yamanaka enters his mind and seizes control.
Akimichi delivers the decisive blow.
This combination is passed down through inheritance: Ino follows the path of her father Inoichi shoulder to shoulder with the children of allied clans.
Reconnaissance and communication: the voice of the entire army
The true power of the Yamanaka was revealed in the great war. It was the clan's telepathy that connected the scattered shinobi army into a single whole: headquarters' orders reached every fighter instantly.
When Inoichi together with Shikaku Nara held this network from the headquarters, and his daughter Ino broadcast the commanders' will across the entire battlefield, the clan proved: a voice that unites thousands of hearts is worth an entire army.
And if you don't want to read about the mind masters, but want to look into other people's thoughts yourself and become the eyes and ears of the village, there is a separate world in Konoha for that.
