Noble clans

Among all, the noble clans stand apart, the most ancient and influential families of the village. They include the Uchiha and Hyuga with their great eyes, as well as the Senju, from which the first Hokage came.

It is around the noble clans that the main dramas of Konoha revolve: the conspiracy and massacre of the Uchiha, the division of the Hyuga into masters and servants, the decline of the Senju. The power, pride, and resentment of these families time and again determined the fate of the entire village.

Ino-Shika-Cho: tradition of the trio

Not all clans fight alone. Three of them, Yamanaka, Nara and Akimichi, form the legendary Ino-Shika-Cho battle trio from generation to generation.

In it, each one covers the weak spot of another: [Nara] immobilizes the enemy with a shadow, [Yamanaka] intercepts their mind, and [Akimichi] delivers the decisive blow. This combination better than any technique shows the main idea of Konoha: strength is not in the individual, but in those who have your back.

Sunset of the clan era

Over time, the power of the clans began to wane. Wars wiped out entire families, rare hereditary techniques are encountered less and less often, and great names sometimes rest on a single person: Tsunade remained the last of the Senju, and Sasuke the last of the Uchiha.

The new era depends less and less on blood and more and more on the personal path, but it was the clans that laid the foundation on which Konoha stands. Their legacy lives in every shinobi of the Hidden Leaf.
