Konohamaru is a loud, stubborn, and incredibly cheerful boy who suffers most from the fact that those around him see him only as 'the grandson of the Hokage,' not as an independent individual. He desperately wants to be recognized by his name and deeds, and therefore, since childhood, he has dreamed of defeating his grandfather and himself taking the seat of village head. Having met Naruto Uzumaki and seeing that he does not give him any slack and even strikes back in response to his antics, Konohamaru develops the deepest respect for him, declares him his older brother and main rival. From Naruto, he adopts the manner of loudly proclaiming himself and even inventing indecent techniques, but most importantly — he learns the iron rule: there are no shortcuts to the title of Hokage. Konohamaru possesses remarkable emotional resilience: the loss of his grandfather Hiruzen and uncle Asuma did not break him; he quickly returns to training, following the Will of Fire and Naruto's example. He categorically refuses to flee from battle, even if the opponent is much stronger, because cowardice is unworthy of a future Hokage. At the same time, the boy remains trusting to the point of naivety — for example, tripping on level ground, he may think that Naruto used a technique against him. Konohamaru greatly values friendship, easily gets along with peers, but never seeks favors because of his origin. He wants to become Hokage not instead of Naruto, but after him, considering his senpai the most worthy of the worthy.
