Summoning: Demonic Statue of the Outer Path is a technique available only to the wielder of the Rinnegan. It allows the summoning of a giant statue, which is in fact the empty shell of the Ten-Tails, stripped of its chakra. An Artificial Rinnegan, created through the Unholy World Resurrection, is not suitable for this. People who do not possess the Rinnegan but wield the powers of both Uchiha and Senju can control the statue if it has already been summoned, but they cannot call it forth.
Unlike ordinary summons, this technique does not require a blood sacrifice. Instead, the statue draws out the life force of the summoner. This is exactly what happened to Nagato: after the summoning, black rods pierced his body in the back, and subsequently his body became emaciated. However, Madara Uchiha and Obito Uchiha could summon the statue without such consequences.
The statue possesses colossal size and physical might comparable to that of the tailed beasts. It is capable of withstanding attacks, destroying entire battlefields, and easily restraining the tailed beasts. From its mouth dragon-like creatures can emerge, which instantly drain the chakra of everything they touch. The statue can also release chains that suppress the power of the tailed beasts and create black rods.
The statue's main purpose is to serve as a container for sealing the tailed beasts. The Akatsuki used it to extract and seal the bijuu. After all nine beasts are sealed, the statue transforms into the Ten-Tails. If the Nine-Tails is not sealed last, the statue may be destroyed.
