He openly took pride in his Explosion Release and regretted that he could not fight Pakura as an equal kekkei genkai user. When his personality was erased, he became a mindless weapon, acting purely on instincts and Kabuto's orders. Before his personality was erased, he demonstrated unwillingness to simply be sealed and actively resisted.
