Pakura had strong moral principles and did not wish to fight those who looked too young. She was convinced that a shinobi's true strength comes from loyalty to friends, family, and one's home village. After the betrayal, she harbored deep resentment toward both Sunagakure and Kirigakure. In her were combined the valor of a recognized hero and the bitterness of a victim of intrigue. She remained a devoted mentor to Maki, whom she personally trained. Even in the last minutes of her life, she maintained her anger, cursing her own village and those who had betrayed her.

Pakura possesses a rare kekkei genkai — the Scorch Release, which fuses the elements of fire and wind. She creates several heat spheres, and upon contact with the body, they instantly evaporate all moisture, turning the victim into a dried-up mummy. Pakura controls the spheres with surgical precision, striking multiple targets at once. Her arsenal also includes the Great Scorching Explosion technique: she merges the spheres into a giant ball and crashes it onto the terrain, burning an extensive forest area to the ground. She uses no other elements or hand seals, relying entirely on the power of scorching heat.
