In the state of Edo Tensei, Haku retains his gentle, kind-hearted essence, but is deprived of the ability to act of his own volition. He still values life and does not wish to kill, however he is forced to fight under Kabuto's control. His devotion to Zabuza remains unshakable: even as a puppet, he instinctively protects his mentor, repeating his sacrifice on the bridge. Haku realizes the horror of his situation — he is a corpse who has been made to fight against the living, and this weighs heavily on him. Unlike many other resurrected, he does not display anger or rage; his behavior remains calm and focused, yet beneath this lies deep sorrow. In the brief moments when Kabuto's control weakens, Haku seeks only one thing — that he and Zabuza be stopped, so as not to allow them to cause harm to former allies. He still considers himself a tool, but now this tool is being used for evil, which is unbearable for his pure nature.
