This was a consequence of the large number of civil wars, during which carriers of special abilities committed quite a lot. The authorities considered them an unstable element capable of disrupting the balance of power, and possessors of rare bloodline abilities were subjected to persecution. The Yuki clan became one of the main targets: its members were hunted down and killed, and the survivors were forced to hide. Mass extermination led to the clan being declared extinct. The last known bearer of the Yuki blood was Haku, who lost his parents in childhood and wandered, concealing his strength.
