Akatsuchi is an invariably cheerful and good-natured person who almost always maintains a joyful disposition. He is quite carefree and childishly curious, sincerely rejoicing even at such simple things as the opportunity to fly. His loyalty to the Third Tsuchikage is absolute and unconditional: he never leaves Ōnoki's side, for which he earned the title of "shield". Despite his outward simplicity, in battle he instantly becomes focused and acts clearly and cool-headedly. He harbors no hostility even towards former enemies and was genuinely happy to see Deidara, despite his crimes. He treats his comrades warmly and selflessly, always ready to lend a shoulder. In critical situations, he does not panic and maintains a sober mind. His physical strength is combined with speed and stealth unexpected for such a build. He never flaunts his strength and carries out orders without unnecessary words. Akatsuchi is deeply devoted to his village and joined the Alliance without hesitation. He remains a reliable and loyal comrade who can always be counted on. There is not a shadow of arrogance in his character, only unwavering loyalty to duty. Even in the face of serious danger, he maintains optimism, which lifts the spirits of those around him. He is one of those who prefer action to words, and his actions speak louder than words. He treats enemies without personal hatred, but does not hesitate to eliminate the threat when necessary.
