Kurotsuchi is a calm, carefree, and self-confident kunoichi who inherited from her grandfather Onoki not only his technique, but also his audacity. She likes to tease the old man, hinting that it is long past time for him to retire because of his bad back. At the same time, she is sincerely devoted to Iwagakure and does not hesitate to propose harsh solutions: for example, to kill the jinchuriki of the Eight-Tails and the Nine-Tails in order to simultaneously thwart Madara's plan and weaken Konoha and Kumogakure. This pragmatism borders on cynicism, but she is not devoid of a sense of camaraderie: when Akatsuchi is wounded, she is ready to take revenge, despite their constant bickering. Kurotsuchi is confident in her own strength, which sometimes turns into arrogance, as in the skirmish with Kabuto, where she fell into a trap by underestimating her opponent. In battle she is cool-headed, calculating, and knows how to deceive — for example, she transforms into Sasuke Uchiha to lure Deidara out of hiding. Despite her outward maturity, she has a hidden infantile side: she secretly rejoices at the flight on the turtle Genbu, but sternly scolds Akatsuchi for his delight.
