Earth Country is located to the northwest of Fire Country and is one of the Five Great Countries. Its territory is mostly barren rocky wastelands with a harsh landscape. The country's border runs along a mountain range that naturally isolates it from its neighbors, making communication and invasions difficult. From the north, winds blow through these mountains, lifting small stones and carrying them into neighboring regions — this natural phenomenon is called 'Stone Rain'. Among local delicacies are 'Stone Rice Cakes', known for their crunchy texture.

The main hidden village of the country is Iwagakure (Hidden in Stone), located in the mountains. Like other villages of the great powers, it is governed by its own Kage — the Tsuchikage. The mountain ranges surrounding the village serve as a natural fortress, which the villagers of Iwagakure take pride in. Throughout history, four Tsuchikage have succeeded one another in the country. Iwagakure is renowned for its Earth Release techniques and unique abilities, such as weight control and flying combat units.
