Iwagakure (Hidden Stone Village) is the hidden village of the Land of Earth, one of the Five Great Shinobi Nations. It is situated amidst rocky mountain ranges that serve as a natural fortress and a source of pride for its inhabitants. The entire infrastructure of the village is constructed from local stone: tower-like buildings are connected by a network of bridges. The Tsuchikage's residence is the tallest structure, featuring a conical roof bearing the kanji for «Earth».
The attire of Iwagakure shinobi consists of a red uniform (with one or two sleeves), a brown flak jacket, and often includes mesh armor on the ankles. Many villagers specialize in Earth Release techniques. The village is renowned for its iron discipline: upon receiving an order from the Tsuchikage, shinobi carry it out without hesitation, even at the cost of their lives.
