Wood Release: Great Forest Technique — a ninjutsu in which the user transforms their own hand into massive wooden trunks. Through chakra, the body's tissues change at the cellular level, becoming wood. The user then activates growth, causing the wood to rapidly elongate and branch out into many limbs. These branches can be used to capture an opponent, and if their ends are sharpened, they become numerous piercing spears. Yamato used this technique to infiltrate Orochimaru's hideout: finding a small crack in the wall, he made the wood grow into it and expand the opening to the required size so that the team could pass through. Yamato used this technique many times in other places as well. During the Fourth Shinobi World War, Hashirama Senju demonstrated the technique's scale by creating a giant wooden limb resembling an arm to grab one of the creatures of the Ten-Tails' offspring.
