Cursed Seal of Heaven

The Cursed Seal of Heaven is one of Orochimaru's strongest seals, applied to the left side of the back of the neck. In its inactive state it looks like three tomoe forming a mitsudomoe. When activated, the pattern becomes orange-red and spreads across the body in fiery markings. The seal enhances the bearer's chakra reserves and physical capabilities, making their techniques noticeably more powerful. Due to the high risk of rejection, only one in ten survives, as in the case of Anko Mitarashi, who was the sole survivor of the first group of test subjects. Over time, if the bearer does not use the seal, it recedes and can be suppressed, but it disappears completely only under special circumstances. The seal contains a part of Orochimaru's chakra and consciousness, which makes it not only a source of power, but also a hidden threat to its owner.
