Orochimaru's Cursed Seal Technique is a kinjutsu created by Orochimaru based on the study of Jugo's body. He extracted a special enzyme from Jugo's fluids and mixed it with his senjutsu chakra, obtaining a seal that can be applied to others. The seal is usually placed with a bite to the neck, after which the person loses consciousness while the body accepts or rejects the mark. Compatibility is approximately ten percent, and those whose bodies do not accept the seal die. Orochimaru applies these seals either to strong servants or to those he views as future vessels.
The active seal draws out the bearer's own chakra and replaces it with Orochimaru's senjutsu chakra, increasing chakra reserves tenfold and strengthening all techniques. At the first level, the seal's pattern spreads across the body, causing severe pain that dulls over time. Experienced users can control the degree of pattern spread. The second level causes physical transformation: the irises turn yellow, the sclera turn black, the skin changes color, the hair lengthens, and strength increases significantly. However, prolonged use of the second level erodes the mind and body, driving one to madness.
Removing the seal is almost impossible; more often it is simply suppressed. Orochimaru deliberately leaves a part of his consciousness in each seal, so as long as at least one seal exists, he cannot die permanently.
