Barrier Formation Method - a technique used to create traps. The user places several special seals on the terrain in advance, defining the boundaries of the future zone. As soon as an enemy enters this zone, a barrier instantly appears around them. The properties of the barrier depend on which marks were used. The Sound Four, for example, used explosive marks, turning the barrier into a deadly tripwire. To keep the trap from being noticed, the marks are hidden in secluded places, such as in the shade of trees. Even if they are found, it is very difficult to disarm the marks, so it is safer to simply avoid the dangerous area. Shikaku Nara considered this technique so serious that he made his son study it from a book, calling it high-class ninjutsu.
