Hydrification Technique is a hidden ninjutsu of the Hozuki clan that allows the user to turn any part of their body into a liquid state at will. The transformation occurs automatically and does not require conscious control: upon receiving a physical blow, the attacked area instantly becomes liquid, letting the damage pass through the body without any injury, after which the limb regains its solid form.
Beyond defense, a liquid body opens up wide possibilities for covert infiltration of buildings and silently sneaking up on targets. Clan members are able to pump water into their muscles to increase their physical strength, fire water charges from their fingers as an attack, or use their own body to flood the opponent. Gengetsu Hozuki secretes oil, but it is unknown whether this trait applies to other clan members.
Despite the versatility of the liquid form, the technique has a critical vulnerability: it is extremely vulnerable to the Lightning Element. If an attack overwhelms the user and they lose consciousness, their body takes on a gelatinous state. Furthermore, placed in an airtight container, a Hozuki loses the ability to move and escape.
