The Wind Country is one of the largest states in the ninja world, located in the western part of the continent and bordering such powerful countries as Fire, Earth and Rain.

The natural conditions of this land are harsh and unwelcoming: a significant part of the territory consists of endless sands and rocky formations, where daytime heat gives way to nighttime cold, and constant winds bring with them sandstorms. It is these winds that gave the country its name and became a symbol of its endurance and resilience.

The capital of the Wind Country for the shinobi is the hidden ninja village of Sunagakure — the Sand Village, built in an oasis amidst the desert spaces. Unlike other hidden villages, here prevails a special atmosphere of asceticism: architecture is adapted to the hot climate, and life requires a constant struggle for resources, especially for water.

The political system of the country is headed by the Kazekage, the village leader and supreme military commander. This title is traditionally passed to the strongest ninja, capable of protecting the people from external threats and surviving in the harsh desert conditions. History knows five Kazekage, each of whom made a significant contribution to the development of the village.

The economy of the Wind Country traditionally depended on the extraction of minerals and handicraft production, but the scarcity of resources has more than once become a cause of strained relations with neighboring states. Particularly difficult was the period of the Fourth Kazekage's rule, when the village experienced a crisis due to the reduction in orders for ninja services.

The military potential of Sunagakure is based on unique sand manipulation techniques possessed by several shinobi of this village. The history of relations between the village and the Ichibi was long and tragic, until it was turned around thanks to the efforts of the Fifth Kazekage — Gaara.

Today the Wind Country maintains allied relations with the Hidden Leaf Village, and its ninja actively participate in joint missions and international events, proving that even in the harshest conditions prosperity is possible with strong leadership and unity of the people.
