Kumogakure — Hidden Cloud Village, founded by the First Raikage after the end of the Warring States Period. As one of the Five Great Shinobi Countries' villages, it is governed by a Kage bearing the title of Raikage. Over its history, five Raikage have succeeded one another. The village is located high in the mountain ranges and is literally hidden within the clouds, which gave it its name. The Raikage's residence is a large blue building built into the highest mountain.
The standard attire of Kumogakure shinobi consists of a long grey top gathered at the waist like a belt, with pants of the same color. Over them, they wear white flak jackets with a single strap, as well as protective gear on the arms and shins. Many of the village's shinobi specialize in Lightning Release techniques.
At the village's disposal is the island turtle Gembu — a gigantic ancient creature that, since the village's founding, has served as a training base. Its size allows for housing other large animals and entire structures. In Kumogakure, it is considered an analogue of Konoha's Forest of Death.
