Zetsu was a single but internally contradictory organism, in which two completely different personalities coexisted. The white half, nicknamed Chatterbox, was distinguished by a carefree and playful disposition, constantly joking about those around him and even about his own partner. The black half, nicknamed Evil Tongue, was the complete opposite — serious, sarcastic, and ruthlessly critical of everyone except his true creator. White Zetsu easily found common ground with other Akatsuki members, sincerely regretted their deaths, and could call Tobi a "good guy." Black Zetsu considered almost everyone useless tools and did not hide his disdain for weakness. Despite periodic disagreements, both halves functioned harmoniously, instantly exchanging thoughts and coordinating actions. Externally, Zetsu demonstrated unconditional loyalty to Madara and the organization, but beneath this mask, Black Zetsu had been weaving his own scheme for centuries, remaining unnoticed. In battle, White Zetsu preferred to avoid direct confrontations, relying on stealth and cloning, while Black Zetsu acted calculatedly and without hesitation. Their general manner of speech also differed: White Zetsu spoke lively and emotionally, Black Zetsu — dryly, cynically, often interrupting his partner. Together, they formed an indispensable shadow tool, a spy and a cleaner, whose true essence remained a mystery even to the leaders of Akatsuki. When it came to observing battles or devouring dead bodies, both halves acted with the same businesslike composure. White Zetsu sometimes displayed almost childlike curiosity and admiration for strong shinobi, while Black Zetsu coldly recorded information for his far-reaching purposes. With all this, their symbiosis was so close that they were perceived by others as precisely one being with a dual nature. It was this duality that allowed Zetsu to remain in the shadows for decades, manipulating events and people without unnecessary noise.
