Ukon was extremely self-confident, but at the same time much more hot-tempered and impatient than his brother Sakon. It was he who often pulled Sakon back when he got carried away with dragging out the fight, and demanded to end the battle more quickly. At the same time, Sakon acknowledged Ukon's seniority and obeyed his orders, despite the fact that he usually acted as the main body. Ukon treated enemies with the same contempt as Sakon, considering them "trash". He was secretive enough to quietly leave his brother's body and attack from ambush. At the same time, he had a peculiar sense of morality: for example, he considered Kiba's act heartless when, as it seemed to him, he abandoned Akamaru. Unlike Sakon, who enjoyed the very process of fighting, Ukon preferred quick and decisive actions. As a pair, the brothers were an ideal balance: one ignited the fight, the second extinguished it in time.

Ukon does not use elemental techniques or hand seals. His only ninjutsu is a kekkei genkai that allows him to merge with his brother's body and separate from it. He can sprout his own limbs from Sakon's body, enhancing attacks, or fully emerge to act independently. Ukon's main technique is the Parasitic Technique: he penetrates the opponent's body at the cellular level and begins to destroy it from within. This is how he tried to kill Kiba, but was forced to leave the body when Kiba stabbed himself with a kunai. When merged with Sakon, they are capable of summoning the Rashomon gates, but this requires their joint participation.
