His mind was completely consumed by the illusion that Orochimaru had acknowledged his strength, and he was ready to do anything to obtain the coveted power. He eagerly anticipated a slow and agonizing retribution against those who had wronged him. A sense of injustice and wounded pride had finally turned him into an obsessed madman. Even when Iruka tried to appeal to his past, he angrily rejected all words about camaraderie, calling them irritating nonsense.
