Iruka is a person with a huge and soft heart, which is especially evident in his approach to students. He is not one to raise his voice without reason, but when the situation demands strictness, he becomes unyielding. His kindness does not mean weakness: he is ready to risk his life to protect children, even if they disobey him.
Having lost his parents in childhood, he understands well what loneliness and thirst for recognition are. That is why he does not turn away from Naruto, but sees in him not a "monster," but the same lonely child he once was. This ability to empathize allows him to notice what other adults overlook.
He possesses a strong sense of duty and honor. Even after learning that his old friend Mizuki betrayed the village, Iruka tries to reason with him, hoping that the Will of Fire still remains in him. When it becomes clear that the friendship was a lie, he finds the strength to let go of the past.
Iruka believes that the future of the village lies in its children, and treats every student as part of his family. He never aspired to high ranks or fame, although he had the potential to become a jonin or even an ANBU member. His calling is to raise the new generation, and he devotes himself to this completely.
Even in the face of war, he remains calm and maintains faith in his students. He does not participate in major battles, but does what he does best: cares for those who are not yet ready for battle, and reminds them that their life is more important than any feat.
