Kinkaku was a merciless and treacherous warrior, for whom deceit and betrayal served as a common battle tactic. He would attack his own comrades without hesitation if profit or simple blind rage demanded it. Despite this, one of the few genuine attachments for him remained his brother Ginkaku, and when the latter was sealed away, Kinkaku fell into an uncontrollable frenzy. Pride formed the foundation of his nature, and he sincerely could not believe that some nameless warriors were capable of defeating the legendary Golden and Silver Brothers. He treated his enemies with mocking contempt, especially those who, in his opinion, had forgotten the greatness of the old criminals of Kumo. His speech was abrupt and crude, and he often accompanied his attacks with short, caustic phrases. Toward the Sage's treasures, he displayed an almost proprietary attitude, skillfully combining them one after another. Kinkaku never regretted his deeds nor sought justification for his villainy. Ultimately, his personality was a mixture of bandit insolence, brotherly loyalty, and absolute unscrupulousness.
