In his youth, Bi already displays the same cheerfulness and assertiveness as in his mature years, but his demeanor is only beginning to form. He is incredibly talented, which even his adoptive brother Ei notes, and capable of performing tasks meant for a team on his own. Bi faces prejudice from villagers who fear him as a jinchūriki, but responds not with bitterness, but with a smile and perseverance — he wants to become the best jinchūriki so as not to disappoint Ei politically. He is sincerely attached to Ei, calls him brother, and strives to justify his trust. Despite his outward simplicity, Bi possesses a sharp mind and can quickly analyze the combat situation. His famous love for rap is already budding, though in youth it is not as pronounced as in later years. He easily forgives those who tried to harm him and holds no grudge against Motoi, who nearly killed him, seeking revenge for his father.
