Among the members of the Sound Four, Jirobo stood out for his calmness, prudence, and taciturnity. He maintained a composed demeanor and almost never lost his temper. He was invariably polite to his comrades, and was greatly irritated by Tayuya's crude, unladylike speech — he would immediately scold her for every curse word. At the same time, Jirobo suffered from an insatiable appetite, constantly wanted to eat, and called the absorption of enemy chakra "a meal." This habit often slowed down the squad. He was extremely arrogant toward opponents and called them "trash," like the rest of the Sound Four. In battle, he liked to provoke the enemy, for example, endlessly humiliating Choji by teasing him about being fat. Behind his outward sternness hid a peculiar sense of honor: he sincerely despised Shikamaru for what seemed to be a willingness to betray the team. It was these words, thrown at his friend, that awakened unprecedented rage in Choji. Jirobo was not devoid of a sense of duty and always acted in the interests of the group. Outside of battle, he maintained a sullen imperturbability. He treated his monstrous physical strength as something to be taken for granted.
