In the Edo Tensei state, Zabuza retains memory of his death and previous life experience, but his will is partially suppressed by Kabuto's control. Nevertheless, his personality traits manifest vividly: he feels profound revulsion at being used as a puppet alongside Haku, calling this "defilement of death." He bitterly realizes that he is denied the right to rest, and asks Kakashi to stop him at any cost, emphasizing: "I died as a human."

Thanks to the properties of Edo Tensei, Zabuza's endurance becomes absolute. He does not experience fatigue, and any wounds received are instantly healed. Even after decapitation or impalement, he continues to fight until the technique is dispelled or his body is sealed. This makes him a significantly more dangerous opponent than in life.
