Description

Explosive Clay is Deidara's signature fighting style, built on creating explosives from ordinary clay. He stole a forbidden technique in Iwagakure that allows kneading chakra into materials and adapted it to his ideas of art. Deidara feeds the clay into one of his mouths (most often in his palm), gives it a shape, and turns it into a bomb. The type and power of the explosion depend on how much and what kind of chakra he invested in the clay. The quality of the material also matters: the best clay for him is white, from the Village of Ceramics. Finished charges are usually palm-sized, and they can be prepared in advance. For battle, Deidara enlarges the clay by breathing a semblance of life into it, after which he controls it at a distance: a small bird can attack, a large one can serve as transport. To detonate the clay, he forms the Seal of Confrontation and utters "Katsu". Since the earth element is used for the clay, enemies can neutralize it with the Lightning Element.

Deidara divides his explosives into ranks: C1 - weak birds and insects for stealthy attacks; C2 - a large flying dragon that fires self-guided bombs; C3 - a humanoid statue capable of destroying a village; C4 - a giant puppet that releases microscopic bombs that destroy the body at the cellular level; C0 - the supreme art, turning Deidara himself into a bomb with a ten-kilometer radius at the cost of his life.
