Three Blades of the Controlled Windmill - a technique in which one end of a wire is tied to a shuriken and the other end to a kunai. The user throws the shuriken at the target, expecting it to dodge. He then wraps the kunai around a tree or similar object and throws it, forcing the target to dodge again. When the kunai reaches the end of the wire, it pulls the shuriken back toward the target, striking it from behind. This movement resembles a yo-yo. The success of the technique depends heavily on the ability to predict the opponent's movements, so the Sharingan is especially useful here. If the opponent catches the returning shuriken, the wire can be used as a conduit for a fire technique, as Sasuke did against Orochimaru, directing a stream of fire along it.
