The Shadow Needle Technique is a hidden technique of the Nara clan that turns shadow into material sharp threads resembling needles. Unlike the Shadow Imitation Technique, which only immobilizes and forces the target to repeat movements, this technique deals direct physical harm. The user forms several thin pointed cords from their shadow and controls each one individually. These cords can simultaneously pierce one or several targets and literally sew them to the spot, depriving them of the ability to move. Since the attack is physical, it is impossible to capture an opponent without damage, but the technique activates very quickly and holds for quite a long time, so it is used when someone needs to be urgently immobilized.
Most often the technique is used to pierce a target through and bind it. Depending on the opponent, the cords can not only restrain but also seriously wound. The technique is especially effective as support: after a hit, it can be smoothly transitioned back into the Shadow Imitation Technique to hold the target without damage, or conversely — after immobilizing an enemy with Imitation, switch to Shadow Needles and only then deal damage. This technique requires a large expenditure of chakra.
