Description

Shadow Shuriken Technique - a shurikenjutsu move in which the user stacks two shuriken together and throws them at the same time. The larger the shuriken used, the more skill the throw requires. The point is for the target to follow the upper shuriken and not notice the second one flying below, in the shadow of the first. Ideally, the opponent dodges the upper one in such a way that they no longer have time to react to the lower one. If the target notices the second shuriken in time, the technique's effectiveness comes to nothing.

Naruto Uzumaki sometimes transformed himself or his shadow clone into a shuriken, after which an ally threw him as part of this technique. Even if the opponent dodged both projectiles, the shadow clone ended up next to them in a convenient position for a surprise attack. This same principle is not limited to ordinary shuriken: it can also be applied to techniques such as the Wind Release Rasenshuriken.
