The Summoning Technique transports to the user a creature with which a contract has been concluded in advance. In Gamatatsu's case, it is a toad from Mount Myōboku. To summon it, one must apply blood to the palm, form five hand seals, and press the hand to a surface.
Gamatatsu in his medium size is no longer the tiny little toad from their first meeting, but also not yet a giant like Gamabunta. He has grown so much that he is comparable in height to Naruto himself, and his mouth is capable of holding an adult human. His skin is predominantly yellow, orange markings run around the eyes and mouth, and two stripes curve on his belly. Like his brother, he wears a blue vest.
By nature Gamatatsu is simple-hearted and childishly naive. He constantly thinks about food and often asks the summoner for snacks. In difficult situations he relies on his older brother Gamakichi. At the same time, his natural curiosity sometimes helps find unexpected solutions.
In battle Gamatatsu wields Water Release, including a water shot technique. He can also spit out oil. In tandem with Naruto he combines his techniques with his partner's wind chakra: this is how the Wind Toad Shot and the Wind Toad Oil Flame Bullet are produced, where fire is added to the oil and wind.
