Urushi is one of the eight ninken who made a contract with Kakashi Hatake. His fur combines white and light brown colors, and long, spiky tufts stand out on his head. His eyes resemble traditional Japanese "angry" eyes. Like the other Kakashi dogs, he wears a blue vest with the Heno-Heno-Moji symbol and a Konoha headband around his neck.
In battle, Urushi relies on his heightened sense of smell. He follows a trail, can speak, moves across water, and works in coordination with the pack. Using Earth Technique: Tracking Fang, he moves underground by his target's scent, and once he finds it, he bites down and holds it while his master prepares the strike. During the search for Itachi Uchiha, he worked alongside Sai.
Urushi can be summoned through the Summoning Technique, if a contract has been made with him. For this, blood is drawn onto the palm, five hand seals are formed, after which the hand is pressed against a surface. The amount of chakra invested determines the number of dogs that appear.
