The Cursed Seals of the Sound Four are forbidden marks that Orochimaru placed on his strongest servants. When the first stage of the seal is activated, it draws out the bearer's own chakra and gives senjutsu chakra in return. As a result, chakra reserves, physical strength, speed, and endurance increase, while ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu become noticeably more effective. Each seal is unique and gives its own pattern, but they are all weaker than the Cursed Seals of Heaven and Earth, although they produce a similar result. However, the seal is not harmless: it constantly drains chakra, and after leaving the mode, the bearer loses a great deal of energy.
The peculiarity of the first stage is that it serves as the base for further transformation into the second level. The second stage grants a tenfold enhancement, but one still has to reach it. Under strong negative emotions, such as hatred or rage, Jirobo is able to draw even more power from the seal, increasing his combat qualities even without transitioning to the second stage. Jirobo's seal pattern spreads across the skin in chains of triangular arrows.
