Description

Tailed Beast Cloak Version 2 is a form in which the tailed beast's chakra takes on a humanoid shell covering the jinchūriki's body. The bearer's own body serves as a frame, over which a dense dark-red, almost black layer of chakra forms. The face disappears, leaving only expressive white eyes and a white mouth. The beast's features, which were barely noticeable in Version 1, are fully manifested here: muscle mass increases, ears and other characteristic details appear. Because the cloak hugs the body, individual features of the jinchūriki can sometimes be discerned, such as Han's hat and furnace.

Entering this form releases enormous energy: craters form under the user's feet, and any bindings are destroyed. Strength, speed, and chakra reserves increase once again compared to previous stages, the cloak remains reliable protection, and the ability to create arms from chakra is preserved. Some bearers are able to form bone structures around themselves from chakra: Killer B created a bull's skull for an enhanced Lariat, and Naruto sometimes covered his body with skeleton-like constructs that had no obvious combat function.

For Naruto, this form is not subject to conscious control: he enters it fully submitting to the beast and his own rage. In this state, he stops distinguishing friend from foe, attacking with the sole purpose of destroying the opponent, not caring about the consequences. The corrosive chakra eats away at his skin, staining the cloak with blood, and regeneration constantly restores the damage, but in the long term such a continuous cycle of cell destruction and restoration shortens his life. Other pseudo-jinchūriki, such as Ginkaku and Kinkaku, retain their minds and do not suffer physical damage.
