Sand Clone is an auxiliary ninjutsu belonging to the cloning techniques. The user forms a copy of themselves from sand that fights on their side. Unlike other cloning techniques, the composition of the sand clone is usually obvious; it merely takes the user's form rather than their exact appearance. Because of this, the clone can return to a sandy state at any moment, most often upon an attack: when it is struck or kicked, the user can use the clone's sand to immediately seize the opponent's limbs. The clone can also be used as a decoy so that the opponent draws near, after which the clone's sand turns against them. Unlike other clones, which can withstand only limited damage, the sand clone can be restored regardless of what has happened to it. The user can also hide other materials inside sand clones to use them against attackers. Later, the technique was refined: it became possible to create a sand clone that looks exactly like another person rather than a sandy copy.
