Kirin is the most powerful Lightning Style technique, created by Sasuke Uchiha. The user does not spend their own chakra to create the discharge: they take an already existing natural lightning from storm clouds and merely direct it with minimal chakra control. This makes the strike incredibly fast - the lightning reaches the ground in a thousandth of a second - but requires preparation. If there are no storm clouds, they are created by firing powerful fire techniques into the sky, up to Amaterasu, to form storm clouds of the needed strength. Once the source appears, the lightning takes the form of a colossal beast and crashes down on the target, completely vaporizing a small mountain and piercing even Susanoo. After the strike, the clouds disperse, so the technique is used only once per battle. However, the inextinguishable flames of Amaterasu allow one to re-create the storm, although this takes time.
