Unlike other nations whose military might rests on shinobi, the armed forces of this country consist entirely of samurai. The ideological differences between samurai and shinobi, as well as the considerable combat training of the local warriors, led to an unspoken agreement by which shinobi pledge not to interfere in the internal affairs of the Land of Iron. Years of detachment from the conflicts of the shinobi world have cemented the country's reputation as a neutral territory, where representatives of different villages are often invited for political negotiations. On the samurai bridge and in the cold halls of its fortifications, fateful gatherings took place, including the Kage Summit and the Continental Council. Subsequently, the headquarters of the Shinobi Union was established here, which only strengthened the Land of Iron's position as a symbol of neutrality and diplomacy.
