Oocotsuki

Countless eras of the Ootsutsuki wander between worlds, planting seedlings of the Ten-Tails on planets to grow the Divine Tree and harvest its chakra fruit, which grants evolution and longevity. About a thousand years ago, two arrived on Earth—Kaguya and Ishiki—who were to cultivate another Tree and continue the cycle. Kaguya, against her clan's will, rebelled against her partner, left him to die, and ate the fruit herself, gaining power capable of subduing entire continents. Having attached herself to this world and learned human emotions, she plunged humanity into Infinite Tsukuyomi, ending endless wars, but turned the illusion-bound prisoners into a white army of Zetsu to counter the clan's impending retribution. Her twin sons, Hagoromo and Hamura, born of a human sovereign, inherited their mother's chakra and later rose against the deranged Kaguya, who had fused with the Divine Tree into a monstrous Ten-Tails. The brothers sealed the beast, creating the Moon, while the beast's chakra was divided by Hagoromo into nine tailed creations, and the empty husk—the Statue of the Outer Path—was securely hidden in the lunar depths under Hamura's watch. Hagoromo himself remained on Earth and spread the teaching of ninshu, inaugurating the era of shinobi, whereas Hamura led part of the clan and took it to the Moon to eternally guard the seal. On the Moon, the clan split into main and branch families due to differing interpretations of the heavenly edict: the main branch cherished peace, while the branch believed Earth deserved destruction. The branch family annihilated the main, using the gathered power of dozens of Byakugan in a vessel to awaken the Tenseigan, and many years later, the last descendant of the lunar Ootsutsuki, Toneri, sought to fulfill the imagined edict of his ancestor. He abducted the Hyuga clan's heiress, hoping to fully awaken the Tenseigan, and moved the Moon toward Earth, but was stopped and awakened, realizing Hamura's true will. Repentant, he accepted voluntary exile on the Moon, remaining an eternal guardian of humanity, while the wandering pureblood Ootsutsuki in space never ceased attempts to find traces of the lost Kaguya and her chakra, considering her a traitor to their entire lineage.
