Kushina was exceptionally strong in ninjutsu, specializing in fūinjutsu—the art of sealing, inherited from the Uzumaki clan. Her sealing techniques were considered among the best in Konoha, and it was precisely because of this that she was chosen as the jinchūriki of the Nine-Tails. She could create complex seals capable of holding even such tailed beasts as Kurama, and her skills in this area were valued at the level of Hokage. Besides fūinjutsu, she mastered the standard jōnin arsenal—elemental techniques (likely fire and, possibly, wind, considering her origin), shadow clones, replacement, transformation, and other basic ninjutsu at a high level. Her enormous chakra reserve allowed her to use powerful techniques without the risk of exhaustion.
