Genma is a calm, composed, and collected person who maintains his composure even in critical situations. He never panics and never loses his composure, confidently taking command of large groups of shinobi. He also has a sense of humor and likes to joke, although others sometimes fear his sarcastic remarks — for example, Shikaku, before contacting him, specifically asks him not to mock the situation. Genma is proud and confident in his abilities, but not arrogant. He despises Orochimaru for his lust for power at any cost. Genma is a loyal and responsible bodyguard, ready to follow the Hokage's orders and protect important figures, including the daimyo. He possesses an analytical mind and is able to quickly assess the battle situation, as during Orochimaru's invasion, when he advised Sasuke to pursue Gaara, noting that the latter was already at the chunin level. After Konoha's destruction by Pain, he was one of the first to remind his colleagues that the village is not just buildings, but also the people who remained alive.
