Zaku was an extremely self-confident and boastful genin who never missed a chance to draw attention to himself. He was proud of his modified arms and eagerly described their capabilities to his enemies, considering himself invincible. At the same time, he was not particularly cautious and often missed his opponents' cunning plans until it was too late. He was loyal to the Village of Sound and personally to Orochimaru, sincerely believing that the latter saw him as future power. When Kabuto spoke disparagingly of Otogakure, Zaku defended the village's honor. He treated his comrades unevenly: he saved Dosu from falling, but did not hesitate to attack Kin when her body was taken over by Ino. For the sake of the mission, he was ready to sacrifice any of his teammates. In battle, he acted boldly and recklessly, without considering the consequences. With his words, he could provoke even a calm opponent, for example, he called Choji fat. His obsession with victory often blinded him, and he did not notice that he was being used. Even after Sasuke broke his arms, he continued to act arrogantly. At heart, he remained an orphan who wanted to prove his worth, but never understood that for Orochimaru he was merely expendable material. His loyalty and desire to be recognized made him an easy victim. Until the very end, he did not realize his true role.
